How to Zip Multiple Files in one file

While submitting your manuscript and if you have multiple files, you will need to compress your files into a Zip file before uploading. This guide will walk you through the process both Windows and Mac environments

How to Create a ZIP File on Windows

  1. Gather Your Files

    • Ensure all the files you want to upload are in a single folder.
  2. Select the Files or Folder

    • Click and drag to select multiple files, or
    • If all your files are in one folder, you can right-click the folder instead.
    • Right-click on the selected files or folder.
    • Right-Click and Choose “Send to” (might be under "Show more options")

    • Select → “Compressed (zipped) folder”

    • New Zipped folder will appear on the screen
  3. Rename the ZIP File (Optional)

    • A new file with a .zip extension will appear in the same location.
    • You can rename it by right-clicking the file, selecting Rename, and entering a new name.
  4. Upload Your ZIP File to the Form

    • Locate the ZIP file and upload it to the form.

How to Create a ZIP File on Mac

  1. Gather Your Files

    • Ensure all files you want to upload are in one folder.
  2. Select the Files or Folder

    • Hold down the Command (⌘) key and click to select multiple files, or
    • If all your files are in a folder, you can right-click the folder instead.
  3. Right-Click and Choose “Compress”

    • Right-click (or Control + Click) on the selected files or folder.
    • Select Compress [filename].
  4. A ZIP File is Created

    • The newly created .zip file will appear in the same location as your original files.
    • If you compressed multiple files, the ZIP file will be named Archive.zip by default (you can rename it if needed).
  5. Upload Your ZIP File to the Form

    • Locate the ZIP file and upload it to the form.
